Hello, and welcome!  I’m Julie, a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience and dedicated to improving the lives of others by sharing my experiences with autoimmune disease, knowledge I have gained, and evidence-based practice for Natural and Holistic Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Autoimmune treatments. Nursing has always been my passion, offering a way for me to channel my love for helping others.

My career took an unexpected turn over two decades ago when I was diagnosed with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). At the time, I had just accepted a senior nurse leader role and was the mother of three young children. The diagnosis was not just a personal challenge but a professional one as well, plunging me into the dual role of caregiver and patient; for myself.

Navigating ME/CFS was particularly daunting because, as I quickly discovered, conventional medicine provided little guidance. The often-heard refrain from physicians was that I needed to ‘learn to live with it.’ However, my background in nursing equipped me with the skills to dig deeper, scrutinize research, and identify treatments that had proven effective in alleviating symptoms.

My journey wasn’t just about survival; it was about transformation. The adversity pushed me to become a self-researcher, piecing together credible information and practical solutions that could offer relief not just for myself but potentially for others sharing the same struggle.

It was through this self-driven exploration that I realized the importance of sharing findings and insights. The frustration I experienced should not have to be the norm for others. This led me to develop a mission to empower those diagnosed with ME/CFS, ensuring they have access to actionable and reliable guidance tailored to their needs.

This journey set the stage for the next chapter of my life, one that unfolded with another health challenge—my diagnosis of Hashimoto’s.

Facing Hashimoto’s: A New Challenge

Just as I felt I was gaining some ground in managing my ME/CFS, life threw another curveball my way—a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune disorder affecting the thyroid. This diagnosis came a full decade after the first, and while it brought clarity to some symptoms, it also introduced a new complexity to my health landscape.

The most daunting aspect of facing Hashimoto’s was again encountering the gaps in conventional medical responses. Physicians frequently offered little more than a prescription, rarely accompanying treatment with lifestyle advice or holistic approaches to symptom management.

Leveraging my nursing expertise once more, I delved into the latest in autoimmune research, seeking evidence-backed, natural methods to reclaim my well-being. This journey revealed a wealth of possibilities beyond the traditional scope, from dietary adjustments to stress management techniques. It was in these alternatives that I found new avenues to improve my symptoms.

Throughout this process, I was fueled by a commitment not just to adapt for my own sake, but to create a pathway that could guide and support others who might walk this same path. My personal battles underscored the necessity of comprehensive care and readily available resources for those grappling with multiple autoimmune conditions.

These experiences laid the foundation for what has become my life’s work with Chronic Fatigue Nurse. Every challenge transformed into a purpose-driven mission—one that I’m immensely passionate about. Next, I’ll share how this mission takes shape in my daily work, contributing to a community of support and empowerment.

Chronic Fatigue Nurse: My Mission and Passion

Launching Chronic Fatigue Nurse wasn’t just a professional step, it was a deeply personal one. It’s a brand born out of my own experiences with ME/CFS and Hashimoto’s. Through my work, I’m dedicated to ensuring others don’t have to navigate these complex diagnoses alone. My mission is to bring clarity, evidence-based knowledge, and hope to those often left feeling frustrated and helpless.

At Chronic Fatigue Nurse, I’m proud to offer a mix of expertise and empathy, providing accurate, research-backed information to empower people to take control of their health. It’s about building a space where individuals can access reliable resources, alternative treatment ideas, and support—everything I wished I had when I started my own health journey.

Creating this community has been deeply rewarding, knowing that I can use my nursing background and personal insights to make a tangible difference in people’s lives. It’s not just about healing the body; it’s about fostering a supportive environment where individuals feel understood and motivated to explore holistic pathways to wellness.

Beyond the professional sphere, I hold dear a commitment to staying balanced and grounded. Engaging in hobbies like knitting, gardening and reading, I continuously seek inspiration and ways to nurture my own well-being, mirroring the advice I offer through Chronic Fatigue Nurse.

In sharing my journey and my mission, I hope to inspire others to find their own paths to wellness, equipped with knowledge and the courage to seek better solutions. Together, we can transform the way ME/CFS and Hashimoto’s are understood and managed, one step at a time.
